GO BIG OR GO HOME

Exaggeration was a key trend for summer 2017. Think shoulder detailing, cinched it waists and oversized shirts.

SLOGANS & LOGOS

So wrong yet so wrong, the slogan tee is here to stay! T-shirts with a political stance are all the rage - it's time to let your T-shirt do the talking.

A SІNGLЕ CОLD SHОULDЕR

We’ve bееn flіrtіng wіth thіѕ trеnd for a соuрlе of years, wіth shoulder cut-outs ѕhоwіng thеу’vе gоt ѕоmе ѕtауіng роwеr. Thеу’rе bасk for аnоthеr round this spring, but thе 2017 tаkе is a lіttlе different. Inѕtеаd of baring bоth ѕhоuldеrѕ, we see thе trеnd іѕ leaving juѕt оnе ѕhоuldеr еxроѕеd.

DECONSTRUCTED SHIRTING

A trend that began in New York and didn’t let up. The best were oversized and loud at Marques’Almeida, shouldered and sexy at Victoria Beckham, naïve and eccentrically cut at Jacquemus. Monse, Tome and Alexander Wang also added spins on the trend, chopping them up and adding extra sleeves and collars and cuffs. Conclusion: if you don’t have a blue striped shirt in your wardrobe now, buy one, and do the buttons up wrong. Or wait until spring to buy the best.

RUFFLES. ALL THE RUFFLES

Basically if you're not wearing ruffles on, you might as well stay indoors. And don't be scared - it's not all girly - we caught a glimpse of black leather ruffles at Alexander McQueen, and punky ruffles at Preen.

CLASH YOUR COLOURS

Forever Unique

Forever Unique

This isn't for the shy types - the spring/summer 2017 trends included lots of colour, but went one step further by clashing to the max. Think bright blue and grass green, pink and yellow, and red, and purple... the choice is endless.
